Advanced Options
The Advanced Options menu enables you to configure advanced options of the
system. The following selections are available in this menu:
• MPS Table Mode enables you to change the APIC table setting. The APIC table
setting is automatically set by OS selection.
• Hot-Plug Resources enables you to allocate additional resources for empty
PCI-X slots so adapters can be hot added.
• POST Speed Up minimizes downtime and accelerates the power-up sequence.
Disabling POST Speed Up enables a full memory test during each boot.
• POST F1 Prompt enables an F1 prompt for POST error messages. Disabling
this option enables you to bypass the F1 prompt.
• ROM Selection enables you to switch to a backup ROM image.
• Erase Non-volatile Memory enables you to reset the configuration settings to
their factory defaults.
• Set CPU Corrected enables you to indicate correction of a CPU failure.
• Wake On LAN enables you to enable or disable Wake On LAN support (PME).
• NMI Debug Button enables you to enable or disable the non-maskable interrupt
(NMI) caused by engaging the NMI switch.
• Custom POST Message enables you to set a custom message to be displayed
during POST.
• Processor Hyperthreading enables you to enable or disable the logical
processor in an Intel Xeon processor MP with Hyper-Threading technology.
• Redundant Power Supply Configuration Modes:
— Mode 1: 2+1 Redundant Power Supply (Default)
This server is currently set-up for 2+1 redundancy (default mode). You will
need to install 3 power supplies to achieve full redundancy. This is the
maximum level of redundancy available in any configuration. Do not modify
this set-up unless you fully understand the exceptions to the server
configurations listed in mode 2.
