Converting ProLiant ML530 Tower Model
Server to Rack-Mount Server
To convert the ProLiant ML530 tower model server into a rack-mount server:
1. Back up the server data.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from electrical shock, remove all power
cords to completely disconnect power from the system.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the
internal system components to cool before touching.
CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Be sure
you are properly grounded before beginning any installation procedure.
2. Shut down the operating system in an orderly manner as directed in the
operating system instructions.
3. If the server is on, press the Power On/Standby switch to put the system
into the Standby state.
4. Verify that the first system LED on the front panel, located nearest the
Power On/Standby switch, turns amber for Standby, and that all fans
stop spinning.
5. Disconnect power and remove power cables.
6. Disconnect any other external equipment connected to the computer.
