5. Connect the cables: keyboard, mouse, monitor, network, storage,
and power. See Chapter 5, “Cabling Guidelines,” for more information
about cable connections.
6. Power up the computer and insert the SmartStart and Support
Software CD to configure the server. To load the CD, see Chapter 4,
“Server Configuration and Utilities.” For the SmartStart and Support
Software CD installation procedures, refer to the Server Setup and
Management pack shipped with your server.
7. Install Compaq Insight Manager to manage the server. For the
Compaq Management CD installation procedures, refer to the Server
Setup and Management pack shipped with your server.
8. Register the server. For server registration information, refer to the
Server Setup and Management pack shipped with your server.
Optimum Environment
When installing your ProLiant ML530 in a rack, the following standards must
be met.
■ Space
■ Power
■ Grounding
■ Temperature
Space Requirements
Consider the following items when deciding where to install your Compaq
rack:
■ Clearance in the front of the rack should be a minimum of 25 inches for
servicing.
■ Clearance in the back of the rack should be a minimum of 30 inches to
allow for servicing and for adequate airflow.
