Replacing the CD-ROM Drive
To replace the CD-ROM drive, follow the instructions included in the drive
kit.
1. Remove the access panel, as described in the section, Accessing
Processors and the System Board, earlier in this chapter.
2. Remove the CPU system fan. Press in on the locking latch and pull the
fan out of the CPU system fan cage.
3. Remove the CPU fan basket. See section in Chapter 2, Replacing the
Diskette Drive.
4. Remove the cables from the back of the CD-ROM drive.
5. Loosen the thumbscrew .
6. Release latch by pushing the latch toward the outside of the system.
7. Push the drive out through the front of the server .

8. Align the new CD-ROM drive into position from the front of the server.
9. Push the drive into the bay until it stops.
10. Slide the latch back into locked position and tighten the thumbscrew.
