Banyan VINES Device Drivers from Compaq
Your server must have certain device drivers for some server options to
operate using the Banyan VINES operating system.
These drivers are located on the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD
you received with your server. You can use SmartStart to create a Banyan
VINES Support Software Diskette (SSD) from Compaq to support a manual
installation of Banyan VINES.
There are two types of SSDs:
■ LAN Adapter SSD
■ Peripheral Adapter SSD
These SSDs contain the README files that list available drivers and driver
installation procedures.
These drivers can also be ordered through SoftPAQ and can be downloaded
from the Compaq website:
www.compaq.com
Manual installation
If you choose not to let SmartStart configure the server, follow this procedure:
1. Boot from the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD.
2. Select Manual Configuration.
3. Follow the instructions that display on the monitor.
Sun Solaris Intel Platform Edition Device
Drivers for Compaq
Your server must have certain device drivers to operate under Sun Solaris Intel
Platform Edition 2.6 and 7. The drivers and installation procedures for
Solaris 2.6 are located at the Sun website:
