Use the SmartStart CD-ROM to assist with installing the operating system
with vendor-supplied media. Select the Assisted Installation option after
booting the SmartStart CD-ROM.
Loading Compaq Device Drivers
Drivers are located on the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD.
IMPORTANT: Always check README FIRST or HELP files on the SmartStart and Support
Software CD. If present, these files may contain information about important software
updates.
Novell NetWare Device Drivers from Compaq
Your server must have certain device drivers to operate using NetWare. These
drivers are located on the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD
shipped with the server. If you use SmartStart to install the operating system,
these drivers will be installed automatically. Otherwise, you can use
SmartStart to create Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD) diskettes to
support a manual installation of Novell products.
Manual Installation
If you choose to configure the server without SmartStart, follow this
procedure:
1. Boot from the SmartStart and Support Software CD.
2. Select Manual Configuration.
