1200 - 1299, Modem Communications
Test Error Codes
The 1200 series of diagnostic error codes identifies failures with the modem.
Corrective action may require replacement of the modem.

Error Code Description Recommended Action
1201-xx Modem internal loopback test failed.
1202-xx Modem time-out test failed.
1203-xx Modem external termination test
failed.
1204-xx Modem auto-originate test failed.
1206-xx Dial multi-frequency tone test failed.
1210-xx Modem direct connect test failed.
The following steps apply to error codes
1201-xx through 1210-xx:
1. Refer to the modem documentation for
correct setup procedures and retest.
2. Check the modem line and retest.
3. Replace the modem and retest.
