Obtaining UnixWare 7 Licenses
Before installing the SCO UnixWare 7 NonStop Cluster software, obtain a
UnixWare 7 license that includes either the Mirroring Option or an OnLine
Data Manager (ODM) license. To locate a convenient SCO reseller or
distributor to purchase licenses, see the SCO website at
http://www.sco.com
Configuring the Servers Using SmartStart
Before cluster installation, you must erase any existing configurations on each
server and configure each server using the SmartStart CD that comes with the
ProLiant server. Start with the server that you plan to use as node 1.
Erasing the Configuration
If you are using hardware that has been previously configured, you must erase
that configuration before using the U/200 Quick Install CDs. To erase the
configuration:
CAUTION: This procedure erases any information currently stored on the server
node. To prevent information loss, back up important files before attempting
installation.
NOTE: The SmartStart procedure may prompt you for the Server Profile Diskette that
comes with the server. If prompted, insert the diskette, and then follow the onscreen
instructions.
1. Power up the server.
2. Insert the SmartStart CD into the CD-ROM drive for the node and wait
for SmartStart to boot.
3. Select the Run System Erase Utility icon, and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when prompted to continue. Wait for the configuration
to be erased.
5. If you used the Server Profile Diskette, remove it. When prompted,
power down and then power up the server.
6. Wait for the server to boot. The ROM Based Setup Utility screen displays.
Continue with step 2 of the following procedure for setting up Basic
Input/Output System (BIOS).
