Compaq ProLiant Clusters
for UnixWare 7 U/200
The Compaq ProLiant Clusters for SCO UnixWare 7 U/200 Quick Install
Cluster Kit (U/200 kit) for the ProLiant ML350 server supports specifically
configured hardware components, enabling the cluster software to be installed
in about an hour. To set up the cluster, you must set up the cluster components,
initialize them, and install the cluster software.
The U/200 kit supports a cross-node mirroring (CNM) configuration in which
the data on the internal SCSI disk drives is mirrored between node 1 and
node 2. Should one node fail, the other can continue performing tasks using
the most current data. The CNM configuration of the U/200 kit includes the
servers and their internal disk drives, the Ethernet interconnect hardware, and
the Cluster Integrity (CI) serial cable. The configuration also includes local
area network (LAN) components. Cluster software provides installation
capabilities, the operating system, and various Compaq cluster management
utilities. The hardware and software together form the Compaq ProLiant
Cluster for SCO UnixWare 7 Quick Install configuration specific for use with
ProLiant ML350 servers.
Hardware Components
Supported cluster hardware components for this Quick Install include Compaq
ProLiant ML350 servers, internal disk drives, the cables required for cluster
interconnect, the public network interface controller (NIC), and the CI serial
cable. Hardware components include:
Two identical second-generation (1-GHz or faster) ProLiant ML350
servers with an embedded NIC in each server
One internal SCSI disk drive per server, 9.1-GB or larger
Compaq NC3123 Fast Ethernet NIC PCI, 10/100 Wake on LAN (WOL)
(NC3123 NIC) installed into slot 4 of each server for public local area
network (LAN) access
One Ethernet crossover cable for the node-to-node cluster interconnect
(provided in the cluster kit)
One CI serial cable on serial port B (provided in the cluster kit)
