Issue:
Cannot connect to Server Management Software (SMS) service on the DL100 G2 from a remote
client
Description
If the Yahoo Toolbar is installed on a Windows client using Internet Explorer, the
client cannot connect to the SMS service on the DL100 G2 storage server.
Workaround
In order to connect to SMS on the DL100 G2 storage ser ver from a remote
Windows client, ensure the Yahoo Toolbar is not installed, or uninstall Yahoo
Toolbar from the client before connecting to SMS.
Issue:
AdaptecStorage ManagerAgent service may not start
Description
On applicable D L100 G2 models, the Adaptec Storage Manager Agent service
maynotstart. Thesystemmayshowthefollowingmessagewhenitisstarted:
Service Control Manager -- At least one service or driver
failed during system startup.
Workaround Access the Services Management Console and start the Adaptec Storage
Management Agent manually.
Issue:
SNMP caus
ing 50 percent CPU load or error on boot
Description
In certain situations, the SNMP process can consume up to 50 percent of the
CPU,ormightreturnanerror. TheissueisassociatedwiththeAdaptecSNMP
extension agent on the ProLiant ML110 G2 and DL100 and the StorageWorks
NAS 500s and 1500s Storage Servers. The SNMP extension agent is repeatedly
calling the snmp.exe service, c ausing the CPU load. The Adaptec SNMP
extension agent is mainly used to monitor the Adaptec RAID c ontroller.
Workaround
HP engineers are working with Adaptec to correct the problem and make the fix
available as soon as possible. In the meantime, disable the Adaptec SNMP
extension agent using the following procedure:
1. Stop the snmp service.
2. Use regedit.exe to remove the aussnmp registry key from the
path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\SNMP\Parameters\ExtensionAgents
3. Start the snmp service.

Issue:
Broadcom Advanced Control program does not display help
Des
cription
The Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2 does not have help topics for the DL100
G2.
Workaround HP engineers are working to resolve this issue.
Issue:
General view of the HP Server Management System is not displayed
Description
The HP SMS needs the Macromedia Flash player to display the General view on
the DL100 G2 storage server.
