Supporting HP TeachNow, v 1.1 update
4
Prerequisites
The following are suggested prerequisites for this solution.
• Attend or view the recorded version of the HP Image Manager 5.0 course ID 01140271
HP Image Manager 5.0 introduced the initial prototype for the interfaces in HP TeachNow. This prototype,
called the Desktop Manager Console, was the initial test for applying a user friendly “wrapper” interface
around HP Image Manager. HP TeachNow introduces the full function implementation for this interface with
separate graphic user interfaces (GUIs) that provide the features that support the different requirements for
Teacher, Administrator, and Student users.
• Attend or view the recorded version of the TeachNow 1.0 course ID 00121134
This is an indexed recording of the four hour HPVC session delivered in early 2010. Is a key part of the HP
TeachNow training and the indexing allows you to navigate directly to the various session sections. The
session describes the solution components and support considerations in detail, and includes live
demonstrations of the:
o Solution installation, setup, and configuration process,
o Installation verification procedures,
o Admin, Teacher and Student interfaces.
• Read Introduction to Windows Server 2008 R2 (no HP course #) e-book available at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/C/0/5C0BD0AB-040D-4C56-A60B-
661001012DDA/Windows_Server_2008_R2_e-book.pdf.
This document provides current overview-level technical information about the release of Windows Server
2008 R2. It describes the standard installation process for R2 (with screens), and explains some basic
procedural tasks. The document puts R2 in context with the initial release of Windows Server 2008, highlights
the differences, and provides additional detail on the new features and enhancements in R2. In particular, it
explains the server roles, and the new v7.5 Internet Information Server (IIS) on R2 (a key dependency for HP
TeachNow which uses a web server-based GUI).
