Figure 6 shows a configuration where high voltage (230 VAC) is distributed to nine
server chassis in a rack that receives primary and secondary power busses. Each power
bus is handled by a modular PDU that consists of a control core and three extension
bars. Each control core can handle a maximum of 32 amps. In this case, each core
could be called on to provide about 30.6 amps to the servers, leaving a certain amount
of headroom for auxiliary devices, such as KVMs, a TFT display, and rack monitoring
devices.
