System Configuration Menu

Select System Configuration from the main menu and choose among the

following options in the system configuration menu:

■ Configure hardware

■ Power-on defaults

■ System partition

■ Configuration backup

Configure Hardware

Select this option to set configuration preferences manually. The first screen

offers the following five configuration options:

■ Important System Configuration Information

Select this option to read an overview of the configuration process.

■ Add or Remove Boards

When you add or remove a PCI board, the system ROM automatically

configures the boards at startup. If a manual configuration selection is

needed, a POST message directs you to run the System Configuration

Utility. The System Configuration Utility can be used to change the

default settings provided by the system ROM.

Similarly, when you add or remove a PCI board or memory board, the

system ROM automatically reconfigures the server at startup.

■ View or Edit Details

Select this option to view and make manual configuration changes.

IMPORTANT: When you manually edit configuration settings, make sure to examine all

required switches.

■ Examine Required Switches

Find the switch and jumper settings for the appropriate board and adjust

to match the settings displayed on the screen.

■ Save and Exit

Select this step to save the configuration update and exit the system

configuration menu.
