previous ROM settings.
Loading System Configuration Utility
For instructions on how to launch Compaq System Configuration Utility from
the SmartStart CD, refer to the your SmartStart installation poster. At first,
SmartStart automatically creates a system partition and installs the System
Configuration Utility and other Compaq utilities into that partition. You can
work with the utilities immediately from your local drives.
IMPORTANT: Do not confuse the Compaq System Utility partition with system partitions
created by your operating system.
When you use Compaq System Configuration Utility to reconfigure or
troubleshoot, make sure that the SmartStart CD is available.
1. With the server running, place the SmartStart CD into the CD-ROM
drive.
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the server with the SmartStart disk in the
CD-ROM drive.
3. When you see the POST test screen, press F10 when the following
prompt is displayed at the top right of the screen:
Press “F10” key to load System Partition Utility
IMPORTANT: The text at the top right of the screen is displayed for only two seconds. If
you do not press F10 during this time, you must restart the server and start again.
