Scalability
The ability of a system (server, storage, network, or cluster) to grow
or expand in performance, throughput, or capacity.
Secure Path
The Compaq software that provides cluster nodes with continuous
data access to RA4000/RA4100 Array disks drives. Secure Path
monitors each I/O path and automatically reroutes I/O to the defined
backup path should a failure occur in any component along an
active path.
Service
A data set or operation set exported by application servers to their
clients.
Shared resource
A type of cluster organization in which some resources are
accessible to all systems in the cluster.
Shared storage
A storage system that can be simultaneously accessed by multiple
nodes in a PDC/O2000 cluster. The RA4000 Arrays or RA4100
Arrays house the shared storage for the PDC/O2000.
System
A complete computer system capable of operating independently. A
system can be either a single processor system or an SMP system.
Example: a server.
