Processor Power Module
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
Every processor comes with a Processor Power Module (DC-to-DC converter) that provides
power for the processor.
To remove a Processor Power Module (PPM):
1. Complete the preparation procedures. See “Powering Down the Server” earlier in this
chapter.
2. Remove the server cover. See “Server Cover” earlier in this chapter.
3. Press the latches on the slot outward until the latches snap open .
4. Pull the module out of the slot .

Reverse steps 1 through 4 to install a Processor Power Module. The module is keyed to ensure
correct alignment. Use the System Configuration Utility to reconfigure the server. See
Chapter 3, “Diagnostics and Troubleshooting,” for more information.
