Mass Storage Devices
ProLiant DL380 Servers can house up to eight mass storage devices, including:
■ Up to four 1-inch, hot-plug hard drives
■ Preinstalled, low-profile, IDE CD-ROM drive
■ Preinstalled 3.5-inch, 1.44-MB diskette drive in the vertical position
■ Two half-height 5.25-inch removable media drives
■ Optional hard drive cage that supports two 1-inch SCSI hot-plug hard drives
External Storage Devices
You can connect optional mass storage devices to the ProLiant DL380 by using the external
SCSI port on the back of the unit.
NOTE: All servers ship standard with SCSI ports connected to appropriate cables. In order to use the
external SCSI connector, the internal cable located in port 1 must be removed.
