Integrated Smart Array Controller
This chapter provides an overview of the ProLiant DL380 server Integrated
Smart Array Controller.
Features
The ProLiant DL380 Integrated Smart Array Controller is a dual channel
Ultra2 SCSI array controller. Both channels support Low Voltage Differential
(LVD) SCSI devices. The controller supports the following features:

16-MB total memory; 8-MB read-ahead cache
■
32-bit PCI Bus Master interface
■
RAID 0, 1, 0+1, and 5 disk fault tolerance
■
Support for up to four internal Wide Ultra2 SCSI hot-plug hard drives
■
Support for up to six internal Wide Ultra2 SCSI hot-plug hard drives
with optional 2 x 1-inch drive cage
■
Support for external backup tape drives and external storage through the
connector on the rear panel
■
Migration from any RAID level to any RAID level
■
Migration from any stripe size to any stripe size
■
Online capacity expansion
■
Online spares
