10. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board.
Refer to the documentation that ships with your expansion board or see
Chapter 6, Server Cabling.
11. Install the PCI shipping bracket.
NOTE: The PCI shipping bracket is only required if you intend to ship the server with PCI
expansion boards installed. If you are not installing the bracket, store it for future use.
12. Close the PCI riser cage door.
13. Install the access panel. See the Installing the Access Panel section in
this chapter.
Installing Hot-Plug Expansion Boards
Before performing a hot-plug installation of expansion boards in expansion
slots 2 or 3, you must install an operating system that supports PCI Hot Plug
technology. To install an operating system, see Chapter 4, Installing the
Server.
After installing your operating system, consult the explanation of hot-plug
expansion slots and the procedure for installing hot-plug expansion boards in
Chapter 8, PCI Hot Plug Technology.
