To remove the expansion slot cover for slot 1:
1. Power down the server. See the “Powering Down the Server” section in
this chapter.
2. Remove the access panel. See the “Removing the Access Panel” section
in this chapter.
3. Remove the PCI riser cage. See the “Removing the PCI Riser Cage”
section in this chapter.
4. Remove the thumbscrew .
5. Slide the expansion slot cover out of the cage .

NOTE: Store the expansion slot cover for future use.
After removing the PCI shipping bracket, install the non-hot-plug expansion
board.
Installing Non-Hot-Plug Expansion Boards
To install non-hot-plug expansion boards:
1. Power down the server. See the “Powering Down the Server” section in
this chapter.
2. Remove the access panel. See the “Removing the Access Panel” section
in this chapter.
