Novell NetWare Configuration Manager
Console
The Novell NetWare Configuration Manager Console (NCMCON) user
interface enables you to view status information on PCI slots and control
features, such as removing and adding PCI Hot Plug expansion boards all from
one focal point.
Navigating NCMCON Menus
The NCMCON interface constantly retrieves and displays the status of all of
the slots. If there are any errors, the appropriate error message displays. To
navigate through these menus, follow these guidelines:
■ From the Main menu, use the arrow keys to move up and down the list
of slots. The current line is highlighted.
■ Press the Enter key to go to the Slot Options menu. Use the arrow keys
to highlight the correct option and press the Enter key to select that
option. Press the Enter key when a non-hot-plug slot is highlighted, to
display the Slot Detail screen.
■ If at any point you want to return to the Main menu, press the Esc key.
■ Press the F1 key for online help.
Performing Hot-Plug Actions
The Compaq PCI Hot Plug and the NetWare PCI Hot Plug application work
together to allow the following hot-plug actions:
■ View slot detail information—This enables you to view detailed
information about each PCI slot.
■ Hot remove expansion boards—This enables you to permanently
remove an expansion board, whether it is working or has failed. The
expansion board driver is automatically shut down.
■ Hot replace expansion boards—This enables you to replace a failed
expansion board with an identical expansion board. This action applies
power to and configures the slot.
■ Hot add expansion boards—This enables you to add an expansion board
into an empty slot.
