Removing a hot-plug SAS or SATA hard drive
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays
are populated with either a component or a blank.
Installing a hot-plug SAS or SATA hard drive
1. Remove one of the following:
• Hard drive blank ("Removing hard drive blanks" on page 39)
• Hot-plug hard drive ("Removing a hot-plug SAS or SATA hard drive" on page 40)
2. Prepare the hard drive.
