Connect the BBWC cable to the cache module.
8. Install the PCI riser board assembly (on page 24).
9. Install the access panel (on page 21).
10. Slide the server into the rack.
11. Power up the server (on page 19).
Expansion board options
Installing an expansion board
The server ships with PCIe riser boards and expansion slots. PCI-X expansion boards are supported with
optional riser boards.
NOTE: If the expansion slot is populated with the standard PCI-X storage controller card, it
should not be converted to PCI Express.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 19).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 19).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 21).
4. Remove the PCI riser board assembly (on page 23).
5. Remove the expansion slot cover from the PCI riser board assembly.
IMPORTANT: If the expansion board ships with an extender bracket, remove it from the
expansion board before inserting the board into the expansion slot of the PCI riser board
assembly.
