Compaq Insight Manager
Compaq Insight Manager is a server management tool that provides in-depth
fault, configuration, and performance monitoring of hundreds of Compaq
servers from a single management console. The system parameters being
monitored describe the status of all key server components. By being able to
view events that have occurred, immediate action can be taken.
The event list may be viewed and printed from within Compaq Insight
Manager by following the instructions below. A critical or caution event may
be marked as repaired after the affected component has been replaced. For
example, when a failed fan has been replaced, the event may be marked as
repaired, which lowers the severity of the event.
Viewing the Event List
To view the event list:
1. From the Compaq Insight Manager, select the appropriate server, then
select View Device Data. The selected server is displayed with buttons
around its perimeter.
2. Click Recovery.
3. Select Compaq Integrated Management Log.
4. If a failed component has been replaced, select the event from the list,
then select Mark Repaired.
Printing the Event List
To print the event list:
1. From the Compaq Insight Manager, select the appropriate server. The
selected server is displayed with buttons around its perimeter.
2. Click Configuration.
3. Click Recovery.
4. Click Print.
