Microsoft Print Management Console
Print Management in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 operating system is a Microsoft
Management Console (MMC) snap-on that system administrators can use to perform common print
management tasks in a large enterprise. It provides a single interface that administrators can use to
perform printer and print server management tasks efficiently with detailed control. You can use Print
Management from any computer running Windows Ser ver 2003 R2, and you can manage all network
printers on print servers running Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server
2003 R2.

HP Web Jetadmin
IHP Web Jetadmin (W JA )is a web-based tool for remotely installing, configuring, and managing a
wide variety of H P and non-HP net work peripherals using only a web browser. It suppor ts a modular
design, whereby plug-ins can be installed to provide additional device, langua ge, and application
functionality. WJA i s not preinstalled on the storage server, but can be installed (see "Web Jetadmin
installation" on page 70)
HP Install Network Printer Wizard
The inclu
sion of the HP Install Network Printer Wizard (INPW) utility on the factory image is new. INPW
simplifi
es the process of installing network printers, including configuration settings on the p rint server.
INPW ide
ntifies HP Jetdirect network print devices a n d allows the user to select the printer to install on
the print server.
HP Download Manager for Jetdirect Printer Devices
The inclusion of the HP Download Manager (DLM) for Jetdirect Printer Devices on the factory image is
new. DLM is used to upgrade HP Jetdirect print server firmware on HP network p rinters. The utility
obtains the latest firmware catalog from either from the Internet or from a computer with the downlo ad
firmware images already in place. The DLM discovers all or user-selected Jetdirect devices and upgrades
those based on the firmware catalog.
Micr osoft Print Migrator utility
TheinclusionoftheMicrosoftPrintMigratorutilityonthefactoryimageisnew. Theutilityprovides
complete printer configuration backup of the print server to a user-specified CAB file. Print Migrator
supports migration of print configuration d ata between different versions of Windows, and suppor ts
conversion of line printer remote (LPR) ports to the Standard TCP/IP Port M onitor on Windows 2000,
Windows XP, and Windows Ser ver 2003.
Network printer drivers
Updated print drivers for HP network p rinters are preinstalled on the storage server. If a Service Release
DVD has been run on the server, there a re updated HP network print drivers in the C:\hpnas\PRINTERS
folder.
