Loosen the two thumbscrews, and lift the fan assembly out of the chassis.
To replace the components, reverse the removal procedure.
PCI riser board assembly
To remove the component:
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and
remove all AC power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser board assembly.
1. Power down the server (on page 21).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 21).
3. Remove the server from the rack (on page 22).
4. Remove the access panel ("Removing and replacing the access panel" on page 22).
5. Remove the upper tray ("Removing the upper tray" on page 22).
6. Disconnect any internal or external cables that are connected to any existing expansion boards.
