Removal and replacement procedures 39
1.
Power down the server blade (on page 22).
2. Remove the server blade (on page 23).
3. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 24).
4. Disconnect and remove FBWC capacitor pack cabling, if installed ("Removing the FBWC capacitor
packs" on page 35).
5. Remove all DIMM baffles ("DIMM baffles" on page 27).
6. Remove the front panel/drive cage assembly ("Front panel/drive cage assembly" on page 37).
7. Remove the heatsink.
To replace the component:
1. Clean the old thermal grease from the processor with the alcohol swab. Allow the alcohol to evaporate
before continuing.
2. Remove the thermal interface protective cover from the heatsink.
