Configuring and Deploying Server Blades
Reporting Using Automatic Data Collection, Insight Manager 7 enables you
to gather historic performance information for graphing or export purposes,
which helps with upgrade performance.
Integration with Enterprise Management Platforms Insight Manager 7
provides integration with leading management platforms including HP
OpenView, IBM NetView, SunNet Manager, and Microsoft Systems
Management Server.
Diagnostics Utility
Refer to the RBSU user guide and run the internal diagnostics before performing the
following procedure.
To run Diagnostics Utility:
1. Download the latest Diagnostics Utility at
www.hp.com/support
2. Follow the instructions and create a bootable diskette.
IMPORTANT: You can use the iLO Virtual Media applet to create the image file. Refer to
the “Integrated Lights-Out Advanced Management” section in this chapter. If you use this
method, omit step 3.
3. Access the server blade through the iLO Remote Console. Refer to the HP
ProLiant BL p-Class System Hardware Configuration and Installation poster.
4. Insert the virtual diskette.
5. Use the iLO virtual power button to power the server blade off and then on, and
to set the blade to boot from the diskette image you created in step 2.
The server blade boots from the downloaded image and runs the Diagnostics Utility.
