Configuring and Deploying Server Blades
This chapter contains information about server blade deployment methods, hardware
configuration, and the software to accomplish these tasks.
Configuration and Deployment Overview
Four primary deployment methods are supported:
ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack
This is the recommended method for automatically deploying the server blade
with little user intervention. Refer to the “ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment
Pack” section for more details.
CD-ROM Deployment
Diskette image deployment
A DOS-based network-enabled boot diskette is created to execute a script that
configures the hardware and installs the operating system.
IMPORTANT: To deploy a server blade without the Rapid Deployment Pack, you must
create a bootable diskette or image of a bootable diskette.
