Installing the F5 Networks BIG-IP Blade Controller
1. Select and Configure a Server Blade to Act As a BIG-IP Blade Controller.
2. Select the Host Server.
3. Connect to the PXE Port.
4. Configure the Host as a PXE Server.
5. Boot the Server Blade From a PXE Server.
6. Run the Setup Utility.
Select and Configure a Server Blade to Act As a BIG-IP Blade
Controller
1. Select the server blade. The selected server blade must:
Be either a ProLiant BL20p server blade or a ProLiant BL10e server blade.
Have one PXE-enabled NIC that resides on the same network as the PXE
(host) server. NIC 1 on ProLiant BL20p server blades and ProLiant BL10e
servers blades have PXE enabled by default.
2. If using a ProLiant BL20p server blade, disable Hyper-Threading through RBSU:
a. Log into the iLO Remote Console.
b. Power on or reboot the server blade.
c. At the BIOS Options prompt, press F9 to enter the ROM Based Setup Utility
(RBSU).
d. Select Advanced Options, and press Enter.
e. Select Processor Hyper-Threading, and press Enter.
f. Select Disable, and press Enter.
g. Press Esc twice.
h. Press F10 to save changes and exit RBSU.
