Before You Begin Using Your HP ProCurve External Power Supplies

Check to ensure you are using the correct software version with your switch.

Update the HP ProCurve 2626-PWR and 2650-PWR Software

You may need to update the software in your switch before you are able to use the complete

capabilities of your new power supply. The minimum software version for the HP ProCurve Switch

2626-PWR (J8164A) and the HP ProCurve Switch 2650-PWR (J8165A) is H.07.42 (or greater). To

access the latest software updates, go to the HP ProCurve web site at http://www.hp.com/go/hpprocurve,

then click on Sof

ware updates to go to the “HP ProCurve Networking software updates” page. Under

Latest software click on Switches to go to the page that has the download for your switch.

To Determine the Current Software Version in Your Switch. Use any of the following methods to

view the software version:

■ Start a console session with the switch. In the console login screen (the first screen displayed), the

Firmware revision line under the switch name shows the software version.

■ If you already have a console session going, at the prompt enter the show version command. The

resulting display lists the current software version.

■ In the web browser interface, click on the Identity tab. The current software version is listed as the

revision number in the Version line.

Compare the software version that is available on the web site with the version that is currently

installed on your switch.
