Recommended Connection Topologies
UPS Support
The 600 RPS/EPS and HP 610 EPS may be used in configurations where an
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is desired. See Appendix A, “Specifica-
tions,” for the power requirements of the 600 RPS/EPS and HP 610 EPS for
use in determining your UPS requirements.
RPS Connections on the HP 620 RPS/EPS
Recommendations
This section shows some recommended connection topologies using the HP
620 RPS/EPS. The HP 620 RPS/EPS can provide backup power support for up
to two switches. In the illustration below, two HP 3500yl switches are
connected to the RPS ports on a HP 620 RPS/EPS. Two HP 2900 switches can
be connected in the same way.

Limitations
The HP 620 RPS/EPS can supply power to at most two connected switches
that experience power supply failures at a time.
