Recommended Connection Topologies
RPS Connections on the HP 630 RPS/EPS
Recommendations
This section shows some recommended connection topologies using the HP
630 RPS/EPS power supplies. The HP 630 RPS/EPS can provide backup power
support for only one HP switch. In the illustration below, one HP 2910al-24G-
PoE+ switch is connected to the RPS port on a HP 630 RPS/EPS.

Limitations
The HP 630 RPS/EPS can supply power to at most two connected switches
that experience power supply failures at a time.
Status Indication
The Power Status LEDs on the HP 630 RPS/EPS indicate if a port can provide
power.
EPS Connections on the HP 630 RPS/EPS
Recommendations
The HP 630 RPS/EPS is designed to provide primary or backup PoE+ power
to only one HP PoE+ switch. In the illustration below, one HP 2910al-24G-
PoE+ switch is connected to the EPS port on a HP 630 RPS/EPS. The switch
provides PoE+ power to devices connected to their ports.
