Troubleshooting an OA Device
This section contains general tips on how to troubleshoot a Utility Meter with configured OA
devices. If you are having trouble with this type of configuration, see this list of possible reasons:
l The OA is down or unreachable.
l The network connectivity between the OA and the Utility Meter is broken.
l The configuration of the OA is absent or incorrect.
Troubleshooting a WBEM Device
This section contains general tips on how to troubleshoot a Utility Meter with configured WBEM
devices. If you are having trouble with this type of configuration, see this list of possible reasons:
l The CIM Server is down or is unreachable.
l The network connectivity between the CIM Server and the Utility Meter is broken.
l The Utility Meter is down or is unreachable (broken network connection).
l The configuration of the WBEM Partition/Server is absent or incorrect.
l The network connectivity to HP is broken.
In addition to performing the appropriate procedures in section: Verifying Connectivity, perform the
following procedure to troubleshoot a WBEM device:
1. Log on to the server where the CIM/WBEM is running.
2. Verify the CIM Server is running by typing the following command:
$ cimserver -v
This command will list the version number of CIM Server that is running. The CIM Server
version should be A.02.09.04 or later.
3. Verify the WBEM providers are running by typing the following command:
$ cimprovider -ls
This lists all of the registered CIM provider modules and their status. The required WBEM
providers are:
