9.6 HP Pay per use Utility Meter II Software Installation and Configuration Guide (October 2012)

Installation and Configuration Guide
Chapter 4: Troubleshooting the Utility Meter
The following configuration files are located in the
/etc/opt/hp/RemoteSupport/umeter/config/ folder:
n uc_config.xml This contains information about devices being monitored by the Utility
Meter.
n uc_properties.xml This contains information that should never be modified.
n uc_properties_delta.xml This contains properties that the meter modifies via the GUI
or umadmin.
l Enabling Debug Mode
Debug mode will add additional information to the log files to aid in troubleshooting. Enable
debug mode in the Logfile Threshold Value Adjustment section on the Troubleshoot tab in the
Utility Meter GUI.
If you do not have web access, debug mode can be enabled in the uc_properties_
delta.xml file. To enable debug mode, complete the following steps:
l Open the /etc/opt/hp/RemoteSupport/umeter/conf/uc_properties_
delta.xml file and locate the following line:
<property name="logfileThreshold" value="INFO"/>
l Change the value attribute from INFO to DEBUG:
<property name="logfileThreshold" value="DEBUG"/>
Note: Make sure to disable debug mode as soon as you are finished so that the debug
information is no longer saved to the log files.
