If any of the CIM provider modules are not listed, then they need to be installed.
4.4.3 Troubleshooting a Storage Device
This section contains general tips on how to troubleshoot a Utility Meter with configured storage devices. If
you are having trouble with this type of configuration, here is a list of possible reasons:
The storage array is down or unreachable.
The Command View server is down or is unreachable by its disk arrays.
The network connectivity between the Command View server and the Utility Meter is broken.
The Utility Meter is down or is unreachable (broken network connection).
The configuration of the disk array is absent or incorrect.
For URS EVA installations, the the HP StorageWorks Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU) software
on the Utility Meter:
Is not installed on the Utility Meter.
The version of SSSU installed is not compatible with the version of CV EVA monitoring the EVA.
The following combinations are supported:
SSSU version 9.3 with CV EVA version 9.3.0
SSSU version 9.4 with CV EVA version 9.4.0
No other combinations are allowed.
For URS XP installations, the HP StorageWorks Command View Advanced Edition Command Line
Interface (CVAE CLI) software on the Utility Meter:
Is not installed on the Utility Meter.
The version of CVAE CLI installed is not compatible with the version of CVAE monitoring the XP.
The following combinations are supported:
CVAE CLI version 6.4 with CVAE version 6.4
CVAE CLI version 7.0.1 with CVAE version 7.0.1
CVAE CLI version 7.1.0 with CVAE version 7.1.0
No other combinations are allowed.
Has not been configured to avoid inventory conflicts.
One or more of the URS processes on the Utility Meter stopped working.
The network connectivity to HP is broken.
At least one vdisk on the EVA or one LDEV on the XP has not been presented to a host. If this is not the
case, usage reports may be produced but no usage data will be posted on the public URS portal.
4.4 Troubleshooting a Device 47
