The mail queue should be empty within 15 minutes after the email was sent in Step 2. If email
messages accumulate in the mail queue, the sendmail configuration is incorrect and must be
fixed. Contact the customer's mail administrator for help on this.
5. If email masquerading is required, verify that email masquerading is operational. See
Section 2.12.3: “Verifying Hostname Masquerading” for details.
The output should indicate that umeter is masqueraded in all cases.
4.5 Verifying the Data Acquisition Server is Running
The Utility Meter's data acquisition server (das_SERVER process) is essential to the Utility Meter and it must
be running for proper operation of the Utility Meter. For details of verifying that the data acquisition server
is running, see Section 3.6.1: “Meter Connection Status.
4.6 Verifying the Utility Meter Data Transport Method
There are two methods to transfer usage data from the Utility Meter to HP:
HTTPS
email
For more details of these data transport methods, see Section 1.7: “Usage Data Transport to HP”.
To verify the data transport method, execute the following command on the Utility Meter:
# grep /transportor_protocol /etc/opt/meter/meter.xml
The following transportor_protocol numbers indicate the data transport method currently configured
in the Utility Meter:
0: HTTPS
1: email
For example, the following output from the above command indicates that the data transport method is email:
<transportor_protocol>1</transportor_protocol>
4.7 Verifying a PPU Partition
This section provides information to:
Verify that a PPU WBEM Partition/Server is configured and connected to the Utility Meter.
Verify that PPU Agent is configured to the Utility Meter (if using PPU Agent software).
Test the connection from PPU Partition to UPS Web Portal.
Test the connection from PPU Agent to the Utility Meter (if using PPU Agent software).
4.7.1 Verify PPU WBEM Partition/Server Configuration
To verify that the PPU WBEM Partition/Server is configured and connected to the Utility Meter conduct a
Device Connection test. See Section 3.6.2.1: “Verify Device Connection – PPU WBEM Partition/Server”
for details about conducting a device connection test.
4.7.2 Verify PPU Agent Configuration
To verify that the PPU Agent software (on PPU partitions) is configured to the Utility Meter, execute the
following command on each PPU partition in the complex:
