Figure 3-6 Configure Tab
3.4.1 Network Configuration
Use this task to view or change the Utility Meter software configuration.
If you are using PPU Agent partitions, and you change the Utility Meter's hostname or IP address, then you
need to reconfigure all PPU partitions with the appropriate PPU Agent software command, to point to the
new Utility Meter hostname or IP address.
NOTE: Only existing PPU agents need to be reconfigured. PPU WBEM Partitions/Servers do not need to
be reconfigured.
IMPORTANT: This task only updates the parameters in the Utility Meter's configuration file at
/etc/opt/meter/meter.xml, and does not update any HP-UX network files directly. All network
parameters in the Utility Meter software must be identical to the Utility Meter's HP-UX network settings. For
details of configuring the Utility Meter's HP-UX network settings, see Section 2.4: “Configuring the HP-UX
System Parameters”.
Use this procedure to:
• View and verify the Utility Meter software parameters.
• Set the Utility Meter software parameters from information in the
Utility Meter Site Preparation Form
.
• Change any Utility Meter software parameters that need updating since the Utility Meter's initial
installation.
• Add or change the Utility Meter's contact email address. For details of the importance of this setting
and recommendations for this field, see Section 1.8: “Missing Usage Reports”.
• Select the data transport method to send usage data to HP. You have the option of choosing HTTPS or
email for the data transport method.
