This technical note provides a workaround for the error that occurs while upgrading HPOS 3.3 and HPOD 2.0 to

HPOS 3.5.

Platforms affected

All supported Windows platforms.

Problem

When you attempt to upgrade HPOS 3.3 and HPOD 2.0 to HPOS 3.5 with MySQL 5.0 on supported Windows

platforms, the upgrade fails.

During the upgrade process, a message appears:

Please wait while Setup calculates the HP Output Distributor space

requirement...

It is then followed by an error message:

Error retrieving local MySQL installation path
