Mount state, if “Recovery” option was not selected.
Open state, if “Recovery” and “Open database after recovery” options were selected.
Mount state, if “Recovery” option was selected but “Open database after recovery” option was
not.

Instant Recovery in a clustered environment
1. Shutdown database instances on all nodes.
2. Manually dismount the ASM disk groups that are involved in the backup on all inactive nodes. To
do this, connect to the ASM instance on each inactive node, and execute:
ALTER DISKGROUP DISKGROUP_NAME DISMOUNT; to dismount the disk groups.
3. Start instant recovery procedure through Data Protector GUI’s Instant Recovery context.
4. After the recovery, the database instance in the active node will be in one of three states
depending on what options were selected on the options tab when starting the IR session:
Mount state, if “Recovery” option was not selected.
Open state, if “Recovery” and “Open database after recovery” options were selected.
Mount state, if “Recovery” option was selected but “Open database after recovery” option was
not.

5. The ASM disk groups that are dismounted in step2 must be mounted manually on each of the
inactive nodes, as mentioned below:
