HP Data Protector A.06.00 additional writers and HP StorageWorks Disk Array XP support for Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service integration

Two backup types are supported:
• Full (for the DPM databases and replicas)
• Incremental (replicas only).
If you select unsupported backup types (Copy or Differential) when scheduling the
backup, Data Protector will abort the backup and display an error message.
Prerequisite
The MSDE writer (used for backing up the DPM databases) must be installed.
Limitations
• Hardware providers are not supported with DPM.
• If you start a backup while an incremental synchronization of the DPM replica is
still in progress, the backup gets corrupted, although Data Protector does not
report any errors. In case of synchronization with consistency check, Data Protector
automatically aborts the backup session.
