Manager and Data Protector media agent will be defined at the time of Data
Protector configuration.
The next step will be to configure the Data Protector Lotus Notes Integration. For
more information about configuring Lotus integration with Data Protector 5.10,
please refer to the section “Configuring the Integration” in the chapter “Integrating
Lotus Domino R5 Server and Data Protector” of “HP OpenView Storage Data
Protector Integration Guide”. For Data Protector 5.50, please refer to the section
“Configuring the Integration” in chapter “Integrating Lotus Notes/Domino Server
and Data Protector” of “HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Integration Guide for
IBM Applications”.
7. Backup
The replica database from a Domino server should be backed up in the same way
as normal Domino database. For the detailed information about backup of Domino
database with Data Protector 5.10, please refer to the chapter “Backing up Lotus
Domino R5 Server” in the chapter “Integrating Lotus Domino R5 Server and Data
Protector” of “HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Integration Guide”. For Data
Protector 5.50, please refer to the section “Backing Up Lotus Notes/Domino Server”
in chapter “Integrating Lotus Notes/Domino Server and Data Protector” of “HP
OpenView Storage Data Protector Integration Guide for IBM Applications”.
Unlike with Operating System clusters there are no virtual hostnames or virtual IP
addresses involved with the Domino cluster, so when creating a Data Protector
backup specification common physical hostnames should be selected for the backed
up source databases. The Domino servers which will be used for backup should be
added in the Data Protector cell, and if it is planned to restore Domino databases to
other Domino servers containing replicas of these databases, then these Domino
servers should also be added in the Data Protector cell.
8. Restore and recovery
Following are the typical cases considered when doing restore of the Domino
databases.
8.1. Restore of the replica database without recovery
In this case the Replica database(s) is restored to the state as it was during the
backup time. The contents of archive logs are ignored and recovery to the last state
is not performed.
