3. Deselect Allow purge of items not backed up. When you deselect this option,

you are prompted before purging items that have not been backed up.

4. If you want the GroupWise client to prompt you before purging items that have

not been backed up, select "Prompt" before purging.

Note:

Using third party (non-TSA) backup utilities requires administrators to manually

generate the timestamp.

Smart Purge relies on GWTSA to execute the backup process and place the time

stamp on the databases that are backed up. If you use a third-party backup utility

and Smart Purge, you must generate the time stamp on the databases.

The GroupWise backup time stamp utility (GWTMSTMP.NLM) identifies the time

stamp for the databases in a post office and can generate the time stamp. To view

the current time stamp, enter GWTMSTMP /ph-post_office_directory at the server

console. Each database and the backup timestamp are displayed as shown in the

following:
