HP OpenView Storage Data Protector SMDR.NLM is the Data Requestor, which auto-loads the required storage management network loadable modules (NLM). • GroupWise engine (GWENN4.NLM). This is the GroupWise agent engine, which is shared by the GroupWise agents.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector /home /tempdir /log /ll Specifies the GroupWise location to back up from or restore to. Multiple instances of /home are typical. Use /home for each domain and post office to back up. Also use /home for each post office restore area and any other temporary location to which you want to restore GroupWise data outside the standard GroupWise directory structure. Specifies where GWTSA places its temporary files during the backup process.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 5.1. Configure Restore Area Management A restore area is a location, which you designate to hold a backup copy of a post office. GroupWise client users can access the restore area to retrieve mailbox items that are stored in this area. When users access their restore area, GroupWise compares the user databases with those found in the restore area and only shows users the differences between the two.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 5. In the UNC Path field, browse to and select a directory that you want to use as the restore area. You can also enter a full path to a new directory, which will be created as the restore area is set up. 6. Select the Membership tab; then select Add. 7. Select one or more post offices or users that need access to the new restore area and select OK to add them to the membership list. 8.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 2. Select Tools > GroupWise Utilities > Backup/Restore Mailbox. 3. The Restore tab is automatically selected for you, with the restore area and directory location displayed for verification, as shown in the following: 4. To restore the selected user’s mailbox items in his or her mailbox, select "Yes". 5. Notify the user and explain that he or she might want to delete unwanted restored items manually.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 5.3. Restore Items from the GroupWise Client After you set up a restore area and give users access to it, users can selectively restore individual items into their mailboxes. Following is the procedure to restore items from the GroupWise Client: 1. From the GroupWise client, select File > Open Backup. 2. Browse to and select the restore area directory. 3. In the Password field, enter your GroupWise password and select OK to access the backup copy of your mailbox.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 4. Retrieve individual items as needed. The backup copy of your mailbox offers basic features such as Read, Search and Undelete so that you can locate and retrieve the items you need. 5. When you finish restoring items to your live mailbox, select File > Open Backup again which removes the checkmark from the Open Backup option and returns you to your live mailbox. 5.4.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 3. Deselect Allow purge of items not backed up. When you deselect this option, you are prompted before purging items that have not been backed up. 4. If you want the GroupWise client to prompt you before purging items that have not been backed up, select "Prompt" before purging. Note: Using third party (non-TSA) backup utilities requires administrators to manually generate the timestamp.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector To set the time stamp for each database in the post office, enter GWTMSTMP /phpost_office_directory /SET. The current time is written to each database. Another way to set the time stamp for the user databases is through ConsoleOne. To set the time stamp, do the following: 1. In ConsoleOne, expand the GroupWise System. 2. Select the desired post office or user. 3. Select Tools > GroupWise Utilities > Backup/Restore Mailbox. 4. Select Backup.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector A request is sent to the POA to place a time stamp on the post office or user database. 5. To test this, run GWTMSTMP /PH-volume:\PO directory. When the POA completes the task, the time stamp will match the time on the server. 6. Installation of Data Protector Agents 6.1. HP - INET HPINET.NLM checks if GroupWise TSA Agent is loaded. If GWTSA.NLM is loaded, it shows GroupWise System mount point in Data Protector GUI. Note: Since GWTSA.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Omnirc variable OB2NWGROUPWISE=1 in OMNIRC file is not needed. Note: If OB2NWGROUPWISE=1 is defined then: 1. When trying to browse GroupWise System mount point in Data Protector GUI, we receive error: 2. Backup fails with error: [Major] From: HPVBDA@tuna.hermes.si "GroupWise System:" Time: 9/2/2004 9:30:18 AM SMDR: The TSA must be loaded. Backup & Restore of GroupWise 6.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector [Normal] From: HPVBDA@tuna.hermes.si "GroupWise System:" Time: 9/2/2004 9:30:18 AM ABORTED Disk Agent for "GroupWise System:". Note: If GWTSA.NLM is loaded, but Pools with volumes containing GroupWise Domain and Post Offices are not activated on cluster node, Domain and PO’s resources are NOT VISIBLE in GUI when browsing GroupWise resources.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector When we backup “empty” PO Restore area 1[TMP]LOCPOA65 , backup finished without errors, but nothing backup. Backup & Restore of GroupWise 6.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Note: If we see in catalog database backup of 1[TMP]LOCPOA65 it means, that we backup “empty” Restore area. 6.2. Disk Agent NLM modules HPFSBRDA, HPVBDA and HPVRDA when GroupWise System mount point is selected use GWTSA with “GroupWise System” target Agent for browsing, backup and restore GroupWise Domain and Post Offices Notes: 1. If we select local or shared cluster volume, it is used TSAFS with “NetWare File System” target Agent. 2.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 1. Load GWTSA with the desired domain and post office parameters. 2. Configure Data Protector with the desired parameters. 3. The Data Protector queries GWTSA through SMDR to perform the requested action. 4. GWTSA accesses the data in the GroupWise system. 5. GWTSA temporarily locks the database that it is backing up. It makes a copy of the database and places the copy in the temporary SYSTEM\TSA\TEMP directory and unlocks the live database.
