Description Insight Control for vCenter is delivered as a single integrated application. The application consists of three modules. The core module is required; the Server Module for vCenter and Storage Module for vCenter are optional components that you select during installation. Core Module Provides the framework required by the Server Module for vCenter and Storage Module for vCenter.
Insight Control for vCenter is supported on the following operating systems: • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2 • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Enhancements Enhancements to this version of Insight Control for vCenter software include: Core module • ESXi 5.
Prerequisites During the installation process, be prepared to provide the identification and login information for each of the following: • Insight Control for vCenter server • vCenter Server • HP SIM (if installing the Server Module for vCenter) • iLO (if installing the Server Module for vCenter) • Onboard Administrator (if installing the Server Module for vCenter) • Virtual Connect Manager (if installing the Server Module for vCenter) • VMware host credentials • SNMP community string Insta
• Insight Control for vCenter cannot communicate with a node if proxy authentication is required to reach the node. Suggested action: Disable the proxy setting to enable Insight Control for vCenter to communicate with the node. • The ASR status for servers running the HP CIM Providers is displayed with a white status icon. Suggested action: The current HP CIM providers do not monitor ASR. • iSCSI storage is not displayed in the Network Diagram.
. When the installation is finished, delete the file HP Insight Control Storage Module for vCenter.exe from the Windows /Temp directory listed in the %TEMP% Windows system variable. For example, if Windows variable %TEMP% is C:\Documents and Settings\ Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\1, then the file to delete can be found in C:\ Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp. NOTE: Remove the file only after successfully upgrading the Storage Module for vCenter.
