10. Enter the host name or IP address, user name, password, and comment (optional). Click Next.
NOTE: These values are not required for installations that include only the core module and
the Storage Module for vCenter.
The wizard prompts you to enter the iLO Global Credentials, Onboard Administrator Global
Credentials, Virtual Connect Global Credentials, VMware Host Global Credentials, and SNMP
Credentials. These credentials are used if credentials do not exist for individual hosts.
11. If you use global credentials for any management platforms, do the following:
a. Enter the iLO Global Credentials Username and Password.
The iLO Global Credentials are a common user name and password for all iLO processors
on the network. After completing this wizard, you can add credentials for additional iLO
processors.
NOTE: For installations that include only the core module and the Storage Module for
vCenter, the iLO user name is required, but the password can be left blank.
b. Enter the Onboard Administrator Global Credentials Username and Password.
The Onboard Administrator Global Credentials are a common user name and password
for all Onboard Administrators on the network. After completing this wizard, you can
add credentials for additional Onboard Administrators.
NOTE: For installations that include only the core module and the Storage Module for
vCenter, the Onboard Administrator user name is required, but the password can be left
blank.
c. Enter the Virtual Connect Global Credentials Username and Password.
The Virtual Connect Global Credentials are used to connect to the Virtual Connect
Managers if credentials for individual Virtual Connect Managers do not exist. Insight
Control for vCenter uses the credentials for network configuration information and when
displaying the networking diagram.
NOTE: For installations that include only the core module and the Storage Module for
vCenter, the Virtual Connect Global Credentials are optional.
d. Enter the VMware Host Global Credentials Username and Password.
The VMware Host Global Credentials are used to communicate with ESX/ESXi hosts if
credentials for individual hosts do not exist. Insight Control for vCenter uses the credentials
to collect firmware inventory.
NOTE: Global credentials are not required for the VMware host.
e. Enter the SNMP Credentials.
The SNMP community string is used to communicate with the HP SNMP agents.
NOTE: In order for iLO information to display, iLO must be associated with the host.
You can ensure the association automatically by using global credentials and installing
either Management Agents for VMware ESX or HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi.
If your system does not have Management Agents for VMware ESX or HP ESXi Offline
Bundle for VMware ESXi installed, you can set the iLO addresses manually. For more
information, see “Setting the iLO address” (page 14).
12. Click Save.
The wizard notifies you that the Insight Control for vCenter setup is complete.
