What’s in This Version
The Enhanced NPartition Commands product has the following new features in this
version:
The enhanced version of the nPartition commands are available in the /usr/lib/npar
directory. On executing any nPartition commands from the /usr/sbin directory, the
enhanced nPartition commands are invoked if they are present on the HP-UX system, and
if the nPartition Provider (NPar) product is installed. This functionality is available
only if the patch PHCO_ 31878 is installed on the HP-UX system.
The cplxmodify command is newly introduced in HP-UX 11i v1 release to modify an
attribute of a system complex.
The Enhanced NPartition Commands are WBEM clients, which provide remote
management capabilities.
Remote management of a complex directly through the management processor is enabled
using the -g option.
Remote management of nPartitions is enabled using the -u option. The server security
certificate on the remote host machine must be copied to the client certificate store on the
local system. The server security certificate is stored in the file
/etc/opt/hp/sslshare/cert.pem or /var/opt/wbem/server.pem.
The client Trust Store file location for nPartition commands has been changed from the
/var/opt/wbem/client.pem file to /opt/nparcmds/nparcmds.pem file. Also, the
permission for this file must be set to 555 for security reasons and the ownership must be
set to bin:bin.
The user or IPMI password cannot be specified in the command line to manage remote
partitions.
If the -k option is specified with the parcreate(1M), parmodify(1M) or parremove(1M)
commands, then the enhanced nPartition commands are not invoked.
