Distributed Systems Administration Utilities V2.7 Release Notes for HP-UX 11i v3 (5900-2590, March 2013)

Defect fixed in this release
The following defect is fixed in this release:
The DSAU utility cexec(1) returns an error exit on _any_ output to stderr, even if no error
occurred.
Known problems and workarounds
Following are the known problems in the Configuration Synchronization utility:
The csync_wizard supports the -f filename option to allow for non-interactive use. The input
file csync_wizard_input.txt located at /var/opt/dsau/cfengine/tmpdir/
contains the answers to all the questions that the wizard asks during an interactive session.
When configuring configuration synchronization in a Serviceguard cluster, cfengine is defined
to run as a package. The data items specified in the input file include the volume group and
logical volume names for the package. Both of these values must be fully qualified.
For example:
volumegroup:/dev/vgcsync
logicalvolume:/dev/vgcsync/lvol1
When creating the Serviceguard package, the filesystem is forcibly dismounted and
Serviceguard inadvertently kills the wizard process since it is preventing the filesystem from
being dismounted. To avoid this, when running the Configuration Synchronization utility in a
Serviceguard cluster, make sure your current directory is not on the filesystem associated with
the shared storage for the package.
During each use, the Configuration Synchronization utility creates backups of the current
cfengine configuration in the directory /var/opt/dsau/cfengine/backups. The top
level files in this directory are the most recent backups. Any previous configurations are saved
in time-stamped subdirectories named "v_timestamp".
The backup directories are never deleted, and can accumulate if the utility is used many times.
HP recommends that you delete these backup directories periodically.

can perform all the tasks that are currently available in the command-line interface. This interface
is available as a plug-in application – Configuration Synchronization – to HP System Management
Homepage (HP SMH). The application includes a help system.
To open the Logs Consolidation utility through HP SMH using a web browser, complete the following
steps:
1. In the address bar of the browser window, enter http://<hostname>:2301
The HP SMH Login page appears.
2. Log in to HP System Management Homepage using your user name and password.
