Possible cause and recommendationSymptom
The SNMPv3 credentials for the switch do not match the credentials configured
in the application
Health status of the
switch connection is
yellow
1. Check the switch SNMPv3 credentials on the switch
2. Verify that the same credentials are set on the SNMP tab
Switch connection configured to use a tunnel but the senttunneld service is not
running
1. From the Ubuntu terminal, enter the following command to check the status: # service
sentunneld status
The sentunneld service status must be either started or running
2. Start the sentunneld service, if the service is not running
3. From the Ubuntu terminal, enter the following command to start the service: # service
sentunneld start
The firmware version on the switch is not KA.15.15 or WA.15.15 and the
OpenFlow version is not 1.3
1. From the switch terminal, enter the following command: show version
2. From the switch terminal, enter the following command: show openflow instance
Datapath
Update the firmware or the OpenFlow version on the switch
Switch connection is configured to use a tunnel but the Service Insertion tunnel
is down
1. Check whether the heartbeat packet is transmitted between the switch and the application
2. From the switch terminal, enter the following command more than once: show interfaces
tunnel type intercept statistics
3. The heartbeat packet must increment if the tunnel is up, indicating that the switch and the
application are communicating with each other
4. View network-protector.log for more information on the working of the tunnel
5. Use a packet analyzer such as WireShark Capture to analyze the heartbeat packets
Switch is a modular switch and has both V1 and V2 modules. Only V2 modules
support Service Insertion tunnels
1. From the CLI, enter the command no allow-v1-modules.
2. From SNMPv3, set hpSwitchAllowV1Modules to false.
3. From the switch terminal, enter the following command: getMib
hpSwitchAllowV1Modules.0 and the result should be 2.
