Transferring licenses
You can transfer your HP Network Protector SDN Application license from one machine to another.
To transfer, you must first deactivate your application and HP VAN SDN Controller base licenses
on the HP VAN SDN Controller. For transferring the HP Network Protector RepDV subscription
license, deactivation is not required. You can transfer it directly.
IMPORTANT: To transfer the HP Network Protector SDN Application licenses, you must transfer
all the application licenses associated with the HP VAN SDN Controller. Partial transfer of licenses
is not permitted.
Deactivating licenses to prepare for transfer
Deactivate your HP Network Protector SDN Application license only if you want to the transfer the
license or uninstall the application. You will receive an uninstallation key when you deactivate the
license. Note down the uninstallation key number for your records.
CAUTION: Do not deactivate your HP Network Protector SDN Application license for any other
reason.
To deactivate licenses to prepare for transfer:
1. Log into the HP VAN SDN Controller.
2. Navigate to GeneralLicenses.
3. First, select the HP Network Protector SDN Application base license that you want to deactivate.
4. Click Deactivate.
An uninstallation key appears, note down the uninstallation key number. See Figure 16 (page
26).

5. Next, select the HP VAN SDN Controller base license that you want to deactive.
6. Click Deactivate.
